Manuel Álvarez Bravo. 1985. Published by "Ministerio de Cultura", Madrid;  1st edition, 168 pages. This was the catalog for the exhibition presented at the Salas Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Paseo de Recoletos, April-June 1985. Text in Spanish by Serfio Pitol with Introductory essays by Javier Solana Madariaga, Dionisio Hernandez Gil, Ullan Octavio Paz, Diego Rivera, and others;  Cover light blue cloth with reclining nude image, some light rubbing to corners and bottom edges from light shelf wear and one small rubbed spot on front fore edge, otherwise vg+. Interior is sharp and clean throughout with a previous owner’s blind stamp on front free endpaper, near fine. Unusual vintage catalogue that includes a chronology and a bibliography as well. Laid in at back is a 14 page booklet of poems in Spanish titled, Muerte Sin Fin by José Gorostiza, published to accompany the Bravo exhibition, fine. There are 35 pages of text at the beginning with the remainder being single images on each page.

Manuel Álvarez Bravo (1902 - 2002). Gelatine-silver paper Photograph - circa 1930. Manuel Álvarez Bravo was born on February 4, 1902 in Mexico City, the son and grandson of painters and photographers. Manuel Alvarez Bravo is recognized as one of the greatest masters of photography and one of Mexico’s most significant artists. Manuel Alvarez Bravo died on October 19, 2002. Negative date: Circa 1930 - Print date: Unknown. Paper and picture size: 7 in X 9 1/2 in - 17,8 cm X 23,10 cm. Full signature in pencil on verso. Paper and print in excellent condition.  I obtained this photo directly from Manuel Alvarez Bravo in Arles, Summer 1979 during " Les rencontres photographiques ". Price: $5.000.00 CAN. Shipping: Art paper will be shipped rolled carefully inside a strong cardboard tube. Small photo and small art paper (les than 8"X10") will be sent flat inside a special envelope. Books are wrapped and sent in a padded envelop.  Each art craft will be sent in an adapted cardboard box. All shipping is made through Canada Post upon your payment. At your request, I can use FedEx, Ups or Purolator.
